Bio

Jerome Blazé is Sydney’s sonic architect. Between working as a producer and songwriter, touring as a keyboard player and researching and lecturing in popular music, Blazé’s many musical inputs feed his own singular musical output.

His eclectic solo project refracts electronic, soul and neoclassical through birdsong and golden hour sunlight.

2024 will see the release of Blazé’s sophomore album, ‘Living Room’. Made entirely in Blazé’s un-treated living room, the album marks a new era, turning to soulful and groove driven influences and placing eclectic collaboration at the forefront of the music.

It follows a string of singles at the beginning of the year, which garnered widespread support including radio rotation on Seattle’s KEXP, Double J, FBi and Triple J Unearthed, landing FBi independent artist of the week, spot play on Triple J, an interview on ABC Radio National and editorial playlisting on Spotify and Apple Music.

As part of the album campaign, Blazé has been hosting DJ nights and collaborative showcase events across Sydney. The most recent event, ‘Golden Hour In The CBD’, brought together brought together some of the most diverse musical voices in Sydney in the light-filled 5th floor space of inner-city fashion store Chinatown Country Club.

After moving to Sydney to study music, Blazé began working as a producer outside of his own music, gathering credits for Nick Ward, FRIDAY*, Odette, Thandi Phoenix, Paul Mac, commercial work for Louis Vuitton and Melbourne Fashion Week and touring as a keyboardist for Ngaiire.

Following his 2020 EP ‘Open, A Home’, his 2022 debut album ‘Giver’ garnered the support of Triple J, Triple J Unearthed and FBi Radio, cementing the artist as a unique voice in the Australian music scene. As Tommy Faith (Triple J, Sound Doctrine) puts it; “The pallet of sounds he accesses is uniquely his”.

Blazé sold out his debut headline show at The Vanguard and has brought the unique show to support slots for Nick Ward, Ngaiire and Lola Scott, as well as collaborative shows including FRIDAY*, Dylan Atlantis, Sollyy, Ruby Gill, Hannah McKittrick, Scruffs, Sarah Levins and Ivy-Jane Browne.

2023 saw Blazé release a double A-side - Waking Up b/w Paddington 2 - and perform two fully allocated shows at Phoenix Central Park.
